Our Story, Our Team.
Bright Almond was born from the frustration of one of our co-founders in their attempt to find a licensed complementary practitioner online. We were inspired by the need to not only identify regulated practitioners in the online space, but to learn about their practice and the experience of other’s under their care. The result is a product and a brand that facilitates trusted relationships between consumers and the most credible clinicians practicing complimentary and alternative medicine.
Our kale crunching team has backgrounds in integrative medicine, community cultivation, technology ventures and software development. Together, we are working to change the way healthcare is delivered to consumers.
Bright Almond connects healthcare consumers with licensed and regulated professionals practicing complimentary and alternative medicine. We believe that when people are well, they can achieve their life’s work. Finding a practitioner with the training and clinical expertise to assist you on your journey is our primary mission. Through HD video, practitioner profiles and endless healthy resources, we provide the background you need to discover wellness your way.
For practitioners, the Bright Almond Network provides an opportunity to be connected directly with healthcare consumers. Patients are looking for health experts online. Our technology allows us to funnel consumers to your practice based on location, profession and area of expertise. Building a practice is hard work. Learning to effectively leverage online marketing can be even harder. Bright Almond is working on your behalf, to market you and your practice directly to the people looking for your care.
We believe in success. The success of our practitioners and the people we collectively serve. Putting our walk to the talk, Bright Almond has two programs that are fundamental to the way we do business; Bright Almond Gives Back and BA Biz School.
Bright Almond Gives Back
Bright Almond Gives Back is a community outreach initiative that aims to connect our practitioners to those who may not otherwise be able to access their services. Our practitioners do what they do because they love to help people. BA Gives Back, sends our practitioners into communities to provide interactive workshops related to health and well-being. We are pleased to have been working with the Daniels Learning Centre in Regent Park, Toronto, to provide health education forums in the community. We look forward to continuing to develop this program on a national scale. Want us to speak to your community group? Reach out, firstname.lastname@example.org.
BA Biz School
Practitioners entered their respective profession to help people, not necessarily build and operate a business. Bright Almond hosts monthly business development workshops both in person and online. Our focus is on helping you, practitioners, build a brand and business that enables you to earn a living congruent with your values. Sign-up today to learn more.
What Type of Practitioners Are On The Network?
Bright Almond hosts practitioners from 7 disciplines; naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, registered massage therapy, osteopathy, holistic nutrition, homeopaths and acupuncturists Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners. We require that practitioners hold an active license to practice in Canada. For many Canadian provinces, regulation does not currently exist for the practitioners we represent on our network. In these cases, we require that practitioners provide proof of registration in a province other than where they may be located. Got it? Want more info, check out our F.A.Q page.
Naturopathic Doctors: Naturopathic doctors are primary care practitioners who use a wide variety of therapies to treat, support and uncover the root cause of an individual’s health concerns. The focus of naturopathic care is centered on the individual, their current health (physical, emotional and spiritual), family history as well as lifestyle choices. These factors collectively inform the diagnosis and treatment plan offered by a naturopathic doctor. Naturopathic medicine is a distinct form of primary health care.
Chiropractors: Chiropractors are primary health care providers who use a non-invasive, hands-on approach that focusses on the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors provide a diagnosis, treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.
Registered Massage Therapists: Massage therapists make everyone’s day a little bit sunnier! RMT’s use a hands-on approach to touch and manipulate the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes well-being through it’s action on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
Homeopaths: Homeopaths use a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances with the aim of triggering the body’s intrinsic capacity to heal. Based on specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate remedy to each patient. Medicines prescribed homeopathically act as a catalyst by stimulating the body’s own self-healing mechanisms and defenses, offering a holistic medical approach that addresses illness on the mental, emotional and physical levels.
Holistic Nutritionists: The goal of holistic nutrition is to unify the physical, nutritional, environmental, emotional and spiritual components of a client’s life . Healing is promoted through food and nutritional counselling. Holistic nutritionists are highly trained in their capacity to assess one’s nutritional requirements and leverage diet in the management of chronic disease.
Osteopathic Manual Practitioners: Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive system of manual therapy that focuses on total body health through the treatment and strengthening of the musculoskeletal framework, including joints, muscles and the spine.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners & Acupuncturists: Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the world’s oldest complete systems of holistic health care (3000 years). TCM’s approach to health looks for underlying causes of imbalances and patterns of disharmony within the body. TCM practitioners often combine the use of medicinal herbs, food therapy and acupuncture.
